
Özlem Alagöz-Bakan
Özlem Alagöz-Bakan is a fully qualified teacher (Studienrätin) at a Hamburg district school and also works as a writing trainer at various educational institutions. As co-editor of the Journal of Writing Studies (JoSch), she advocates contemporary writing and language support.
She studied at the University of Hamburg for a teaching degree for primary and lower-secondary education in German and History (M.Ed.) as well as Multilingualism and Education (M.A.). Her specialist areas include writing pedagogy, multilingualism, writing and language-learning counselling in a university context, and writing support in German as a second and foreign language.
For many years, Özlem Alagöz-Bakan has also been involved on a voluntary and social basis in various associations and initiatives in education and neighbourhood work, particularly in Hamburg’s Billstedt district.
As secretary of Türkischer Arbeitgeber Bund Hamburg e. V. she is responsible for taking minutes and documenting the association’s work in writing. Drawing on her experience in writing pedagogy, multilingualism and community education, she strengthens the association’s clear, multilingual communication internally and publicly.
